Description |
Emerson School provides a whole child, multiple method approach to instruction for gifted and academically talented students. Dedicated faculty and staff encourage creativity, problem solving, and the development of basic skills, while providing a warm supportive environment that promotes responsibility for oneself and others. A variety of special classes enriches the curriculum including but not limited to: music, art, drama, technology, foreign language, physical education, and library. Middle School sports teams offer students the opportunity for competition among other schools. After-school activities and child care, as well as a summer camp program, are also provided.
Our students are guided and encouraged to reach their full potential as learners, leaders, and good citizens by laying a sound foundation for a lifetime of commitment to learning. Students develop strong learning tools for the rigorous academic demands they face in their futures, and master, as individuals, the art of learning itself. Skills in abstract reasoning and critical thinking are well developed. Our graduates generally enter advanced courses in high school. |
