Description |
Kingsbury School is located in North Oakland County in a rural setting. We have a strong tradition of academic excellence, recognition of individual needs and development of the potential of our students.
The program for children in junior kindergarten through eighth-grade emphasizes basic academic concepts, builds thinking skills and incorporates respect and concern for others. Language arts, social studies, math, science, music, art, Spanish, environmental studies, physical education and computer education are offered. An all-school ski program is a special feature.
Our 125-acre campus serves as an outdoor classroom for the nationally acclaimed environmental studies program. The Lower School was opened as an independent school in 1953 in a converted township one-room school. That building expanded to house classes through eighth-grade. A 1996 expansion renovated the Middle School. The Justin A. Schwartz center, a gymnasium and performing arts center, was completed in 1998. |
